Thanks! I took these pictures about six years ago, but if I remember right those bodies were held in an area where the archeologists keep several of the loose items such as pots. The area is blocked off by bars, but is worth looking at.

Nice "V" photo choice. Would like to see Pompeii someday. Thanks for stopping by my blog. We share the desire to see the Ring Cycle, though you are in a much better position to do so since the Met performs it regularly. Not many big opera productions in Florida, sadly.
I remember seeing these photos in textbooks when I was in grade school. It seems they have encased the remains in glass now. Welcome to ABC Wednesdays!
What a beautiful place. When i was traveling through Italy a passed mere miles away from Pompeii, but didn't have the time to explore. Such a pity.

Alina Sharon - if you ever get a chance you should visit Pompeii, especially before the volcano erupts again (which they say it will). I want to go back some day to see the volcano. The day I went I hiked to the top but it was too foggy to see anything. Luckily it wasn't so foggy in Pompeii, just in the Mountains high up.
AVCR8TEUR, when I went about seven years ago they had most of the bodies in cases, but a few were out for you to see, behind bars of course.
Alan, I don't live in NYC anymore. I lived there for a year last year for school but have transferred to another school since then. I do love the city, though, and plan on visiting it this spring. I also have tons of photos of the city that I have yet to post.
